Dance It! – Newsletter
The Dance It! Newsletter project was a conceptual design for an editorial project. The newsletter’s purpose was to be a source for the latest news about the local dance scene, complete with featured artists, tips from the pros, competition listings, and much more.
I worked the newsletter with a series of different grids on various pages, which altered the layout and feel of each page. It was a great way to get a lot of information organized into a manner that would be easy for the reader to view.

Blossom Winery – Rebranding & Packaging

The Blossom Winery rebranding project was a conceptual design meant to give a sense of what the company’s current labeling for their wines might look like. I opted for a simple yet elegant design, tying in a redesigned company logo with a set colour scheme for each wine.
The end result were labels that were concise and easy to read, as well as easily recognizable on store shelves. The bottles were illustrated with the label mapped out on them to show what they might look like on a shelf.
You can view the company’s wine selections and current branding online at their website.
The Celestine Prophecy – Book Review
I had the pleasure of reading The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield a number of years ago. I remember one of my brothers mentioning the book to me in passing one day, and though it interested me immensely, I wasn’t quite sure of it. About a year passed by, and I still had not read the book. Hadn’t even gone to purchase it. Something just didn’t feel right – like I wasn’t quite ready. Anyone who has read the book already, will know what I mean by this.
Once again, the book name was mentioned to me in passing, and this time my ears perked up. I decided to pick up a copy and was eager to start reading it. Again, a few months passed and not a single page was flipped and the book just sat on my bookshelf. Finally, one day I noticed that some things in my life weren’t going quite the way I planned, and I really wanted to make a change. I felt… stuck. Suddenly, the book popped back into my mind, and I felt that I should really start reading it. It’s almost like I wasn’t ready for it before, and this time, things were different. I wanted to make a change in my life, but was too comfortable in my current state and so nothing was getting done – no changes were happening.
I read the first chapter and it’s literally like someone had opened a door up in my mind that I didn’t know existed. I didn’t quite understand what I was reading, because it meant more than just the words on the page. Something seemed, familiar almost, but I wasn’t sure what it was. I left the book for a few days, as this comfort zone I was in really made it hard for changes to come about, and when I presented with them, I almost rebelled. Telling myself that reading this book would help me get past these feelings of being stuck, I managed to pick the book up again, and I did not put it down.
The Celestine Prophecy is the book that gives you a glimpse into those questions you may have had about life, but were too afraid to ask. It gives you a really good look at yourself, and dives deep into things that you might not have even heard of before. Things like there’s energy in the Universe and how we’re all connected. Things that make you go ‘hmmm’ for lack of a better phrase. It is a book that really gets you thinking, and sometimes you have to read it twice (I did) to even grasp the essence of it even a little bit. What I can tell you is that ever since I read The Celestine Prophecy for the first time, things changed for me. I’m talking the kind of change that you don’t realize consciously but you just know in your inner being – your soul.
As you read the story, you get immersed in it and realize that you learn things about your own life, as you experience what is happening with the characters. It shows you things that are so deep, that you cannot even understand where those feelings are coming from. It’s like this book was written for each and every person out there, as everyone gets something different from it. Everyone relates to it in different ways, but the one thing that rang true for me, is that once I read the book, I started to meet people who also had read the book. I attracted them into my life. Each time I met someone that had read the book, we shared our experiences with it and how we each grew from reading it.
I don’t think it’s possible for me to quantify the experience you can have with this book if you just open yourself up to it. This is not hype or ego talking. This is YOU reading the book when you are ready for it, and YOU going on your own adventure with it. Some have started reading it and just didn’t understand it. Others have started it and couldn’t put it down. Still others read it so fast they had to read it again and again to remember the lessons from it. It’s a great book to share with your friends, family, and anyone you think can benefit from it, and it’s definitely a good one to keep on the shelf for reviewing again when you feel you need to.
This is the type of book that you will purchase simply to give away to family and friends – it’s just that good. I hope you find what you’re looking for if you decide to pick up The Celestine Prophecy, and I welcome your thoughts on it. Happy Reading!
Pacifica Resort Hotel – Annual Report

The Pacifica Resort Hotel has locations at exotic and tropical destinations, and their annual report had to signify the company’s new addition – the launch of their newest resort.Their tagline Come Relax With Us was enhanced with the colour palette I chose for this piece, to convey a tropical yet relaxing atmosphere for the reader. The financial highlights also needed to be presented in a way that enticed readers to go through them, so I chose to break up the information with colour blocks and imagery for the reader.
BCIT Nonprofit Management Program – Posters
These BCIT Nonprofit Management program posters were designed to attract potential students currently involved in a charity organization (either as employees or volunteers) to consider this program of study as an option to further their career goals.
As the program has a unique blend of courses for organization managers and volunteers alike, these posters were constructed in order to reach their respective target market. The poster on the left appeals to the business side of the charity organization (aimed more at office personnel and directors) and the poster on the right appeals to the fundraising side of the organization (aimed more at the volunteers).
More information about the program can be found on BCIT’s website here.
Aqua Paws – Business Card and Logo

Aqua Paws Hydrotherapy Inc. became the first eco-friendly canine warm water therapy pool in the city of Vancouver. I was approached by its founder, Jacqueline, to design the company’s identity.
Jacqueline wanted the logo to be clean, modern, and simple. This gave me the framework to start developing the logo, which also had to incorporate the visual element of a dog in a lifesaver. I also had to ensure that the illustration of the dog was soft and approachable, as it needed to be visually appealing to a wide audience.
I chose a light blue to offset the harshness of the black in the typography, while also balancing out the browns and blacks in the dog illustration. I also chose a softer and script font for the word ‘aqua’ to show the fluidity of water without having to convey that with a colour, as I wanted the word ‘paws’ to be bigger and bolder while again using the light blue to make it pop in the design. I balanced the entire logo with the word ‘hydrotherapy inc.’ in all caps black font and the entire design was finished off with the illustration situated to the top right to draw the eye in.
Below is an example of the front of the business card.

“My Colours” – Booklet Layout
My Colours Self Promotional Piece
Click and drag the right edge to view each page.
You have stumbled upon a rare piece… a gem of sorts, giving you a glimpse into me. Enjoy your stay and as you flip through the pages, I hope you learn how colour can affect your life and how it has shaped mine.
This piece has been designed to describe the various parts of my personality, by telling a story with colour. Each page has been laid out for a specific colour, and speaks of the colour’s attributes while also giving mention of how that particular colour affects me. I used a very simply but effective grid design to showcase the images that relate to each of the colours. I mimicked that on the opposite side where I used typography effectively for the various words that describe each colour.
Energize Magazine – Layout
Energize Magazine is a health and nutritional magazine aimed at getting people moving. It’s energetic, fun, informative, and full of great recipes and workout tips. I incorporated bright colours with a bold header to introduce the magazine, and found the perfect image for the cover to gain a reader’s attention. Throughout the magazine, I also balanced the content with the right amount of white space, to keep the overall design organized and clean, while allowing for quick and easy reading.
